Supporting the great work at Prior’s Court Foundation
Prior’s Court Foundation is dedicated to supporting and improving life chances for people with autism. Hambleside have been working with Prior’s Court for a number of years now, helping with their branded product requirements and supporting their good work where we can.   Prior’s Court Cottages provide a supportive living and learning environment for young adults aged 16-25 with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties, and who may also have additional complex needs including challenging behaviour. The local community of the Cottages helps develop essential life and vocational skills, empowering the students to lead a fulfilling and purposeful life. It is these young people in particular who we can help by supplying tasks which allow them to develop their vocational skills. The nature of certain types of tasks are especially useful such as repetitive fulfilment jobs and mailshots.   If you have received a copy of our new catalogue in the last few months then it will have been packed and despatched to you by the young people at Prior’s Court. Hambleside are very pleased to be able to support them in this way.   Jon King-Head, Instructor for Vocational and Lifelong Learning at Prior’s Court Cottages has commented, “Our young people here at the cottages really enjoyed completing the mailing. This job really helped one young man who, in particular, finds it very challenging to gain structure and predictability to his day. The job gave him a real purpose and provided him with a real opportunity to demonstrate some of his vocational skills to a high standard. This will help us to help him develop the skills that he has shown through this job into his waking day and will enable him to have more meaningful and fulfilling days.”   Prior’s Court have kindly given us permission to share some photos of the young people at work.   To find out more about Prior’s Court Foundation, please visit www.priorscourt.org.uk
