Let’s Go Jets!

Hambleside Merchandise has been working with Leeds Metropolitan University for many years to support their merchandise requirements. Now through the superleague netball team based at the University, the Yorkshire Jets, the relationship is set to develop further as we continue to sponsor the team and assist in raising funds. The Yorkshire Jets is one of only eight UK based teams awarded franchises to play in the Superleague Netball competition. The superleague is the highest level before reaching national championships and the matches are televised on Sky Sports. Bill Copland, Account Manager for Leeds Met University was recently invited to attend the match against Loughborough in the 400 seater netball arena situated on the University campus. Bill – an avid rugby player – commented, “The concept of a non-contact sport was completely alien to me but I was surprised at how aggressive professional netball actually is!” The team currently offers very little in the form of supporters’ merchandise. With over 300 supporters, the Yorkshire Jets would benefit greatly from sales of hoodies, T-shirts and other sports memorabilia. Hambleside Merchandise is currently in discussion with the team about the possibility of supplying the memorabilia which will help to raise funds for the club and promote the team. Within the league there will be a fixture against the University of Bath. Coincidentally, Hambleside Merchandise has recently been appointed as an Approved Merchandise Supplier to the University of Bath and so we will need to take a more neutral approach for that match!
