Hambleside Merchandise has received a bronze award from Armed Forces Covenant scheme
We, at Hambleside Merchandise are incredibly pleased to announce that we have received the bronze award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme. We are proud to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and look forward to continuing and growing our support to the Armed Forces community. This bronze level certification recognises our ongoing commitment to those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their families.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant?
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, to be treated with fairness and respect in the community, economy, and society. The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The bronze award is awarded to employers who have pledged to support the armed forces, signed the Armed Forces Covenant, promoted being armed forces-friendly and are open to employing reservists, Armed Forces veterans, cadet instructors and military spouses/partners.
Why we pledged with the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme
Hambleside Merchandise is based in Portsmouth with a significant military community. Portsmouth Naval Base has been an integral part of the city since 1194. It is home to almost two-thirds of the Royal Navy’s surface ships, including the aircraft carriers HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales. Suzie Munday, Managing Director, is a military spouse herself with first hand experience of what it means to support a military partner and live within the military community. Being in this area with much of a military presence, we want to support our brave Service personnel, along with their families and partners.
We will display our ERS bronze certification with pride and look forward to continuing to support members of the Armed Forces community in any way we can in the future.
