As a thank you for giving us feedback on a monthly basis through our customer satisfaction survey, customers are given the option to receive free origination off their next order or make a donation to a charity of our choice.
This quarter Ruth Tanner, Account Executive at Hambleside Merchandise recommended that we donate the money to her best friend’s sister, Esther Camp. Esther was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a degenerative disease, 11 years ago and her diaphragm, tongue, and mouth muscles are weakening. This makes breathing and talking very difficult, her speech is slurred and the volume of her voice is now very low. Eventually she won’t be able to talk at all.
The money that she raises will go towards a Tobii I15 device. Tobii develops and manufactures high technology communication products for eye control and eye tracking. This device will not only give Esther a voice but also allow her to control the TV and lights etc, text on her mobile phone and access the internet – with her eyes! Hambleside Merchandise raised £90.00 for Esther from the generosity of our customers through the customer satisfaction survey. So far she has raised over £2,100 and she started fundraising on 16th June 2013 so she is on target for her goal of £12,800.
