Top tips to get your merchandise artwork right

Early on in the process you will need to send us your artwork for printing. There are a few ways to do this.

    1. Once you have loaded your items into the cart, you can upload your artwork files at checkout.
    2. You can email your artwork to [email protected], quoting your order number in the Subject line. If your files are large, you can also send a Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer or similar link to this email too.

All artwork received will be checked by our merchandise experts on receipt to ensure it is suitable. If there are any problems or queries, we will be in touch to discuss your options and advise the best solution.

How Many Colours in Your Brand?

    Guidance on Spot Printing

The graphics here show the difference between a 1 colour, 2 colour, 3 colour and 4 colour spot printed logo. Spot colour printing is used when we need to print in a specific colour (usually a Pantone reference) to match your brand. This may be screen printed, pad printed (also known as tampo printed) or transfer printed. Each colour must be solid with no gradients or tints. Your artwork must have all outlines converted to curves, known as vectored.

    Guidance on Full Colour Printing

Full colour digital printing differs from spot printing because this method maintains dots printed in CMYK, similar to paper print. Full colour print methods include dye sublimation, full colour transfer printing, direct to garment (DTG) or direct to film (DTF) printing. Your full colour artwork can have gradients, tints and shadows plus photographs and imagery. It’s a less restrictive print option although you must provide high resolution graphics (minimum 300dpi) to ensure print quality. The graphic example shows a full colour printed version of the same logo shown above, for comparison.

Guidance for Engraving, Debossing and Foil Blocking

For engraving, debossing and foil blocking print methods we recommend you provide vectored artwork in 1 colour. A vector file is made up of shapes with solid edges therefore this gives the best finish.

TOP TIP! Try and avoid any small details as these may infill.

    File Types

We accept EPS, PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG file types. If you have selected spot colour print, we will require your artwork in vector format. Image raster files much be supplied in a minimum 300dpi, high resolution to ensure a quality print.
